Cecilia has been studying the work of Mary Lou Williams for the past 5 1/2 years. She created the Mary Lou Williams Resurgence Project where she is currently the Artistic Director. During this year's Kennedy Center Celebration, Cecilia put together an all-star, mixed-gendered, multi-generational big band and brought in the Morgan State University Choir to perform the complex works of Mary Lou Williams. Cecilia received rave reviews for this performance! Cecilia also received a Berklee College Of Music Alumni Grant that aided her in the continuation of the project.
